The Selah parade was held this morning as part of Selah Community Days. There were hundreds of people there. The weather was perfect and the parade lasted 2 hours.

Lot's of Yard Work

Susan and I have been working really hard in the yard for the last two weekends and things are starting to look very nice. Susan planted Walla Walla onions, tomatoes, basil, parsley, garlic, and other yummy things in the raised beds out front. Out back, she has been spreading the mulch we ordered in the vinca beds.
I planted several pots and purchased some hanging baskets for the patio.   We found this bicycle at Safeway and thought it was so cute, we decided to add it to our collection.
We have also been getting the lawn whipped into shape.

Yakima Museum

A friend of mine and I recently spent an afternoon at the Yakima Museum where there are several types of petrified wood on display.  Reading about the process of how wood turns to stone was very interesting.

We enjoyed the shoe collection that I put on the blog earlier and I was glad I went back because they have added shoes since I was there the first time. We just spent a relaxing couple of hours looking at all the old transportation vehicles and wondering what it must have been like to live back then.

Look at this apple pie measuring 10 feet across made in 1927!
