Christmas 2013

Susan and I typically purchase something for the house at Christmas and this year we got a new night light for the kitchen. It sure looks better than the small lamp we were using before.

I took a picture of our tree that really showed the lights, but then none of the ornaments showed up.

Every year we drive around and look at some of the houses that made the newspaper list for their decorations.  Here are some of the ones from this year.

While driving around we ended up by the Apple Tree Golf Course and found this sleigh and reindeer. The picture did not turn out that great - it was really cute in person.

Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol

Last night Susan and I went to see the Warehouse Theatre Company present one of my favorite Christmas stories.  The Warehouse Theatre is currently undergoing a renovation, which resulted in the play being held in the much small Akin Center Theatre in Yakima.

Because the theater is so small the company had to get very creative both with set design and story telling.  The singing was wonderful and we thought they did a great job in a difficult setting.

Sunnyside Farm Implement Parade

The day after the Selah Christmas Parade, Sunnyside held their annual Farm Implement Parade, now in its 26th year. There were 76 entries in the parade this year, which set a new record.

Selah Lighted Christmas Parade

We had planned on taking lawn chairs and sitting next to the street to watch the parade on December 6, but the weather was just too cold, so we ended up watching it from the car.  It was relatively short this year, again most likely caused by the extremely cold weather.
