2 Acre Meadow
I took this picture of our property last week. The solar panels are visible on the roof of the shop.
North Bend
A good friend of mine owns a home in North Bend but she has been gone for the last two years working in Winnipeg. She just recently moved back home and today, April 28, was her birthday so I went over to help her celebrate. Even though her house in within the city limits, it is very secluded. The back yard has a gentle waterfall, several plants and trees and a large burn pit.
I was amazed at the size of the casino floor at the Snoqualimie Casino and the number of people gambling. The air was blue-gray due to all the cigarette smoke so we could not stay on the floor very long. The views from the deck are worth seeing.
We had a wonderful day. On the way home, I stopped and took these pictures at the viewpoint on Manastash Pass.
This is the North Bend train station. Presently, visitors can ride the train into the town of Snoqualmie, but plans are in the works to run the train all the way to Snoqualmie Falls.
The falls are spectacular right now with all the spring runoff. Even from the lower viewpoint it was hard to keep water off the camera lens.

Barrage
Susan and I went to the 4th Street Theater in Yakima last night to see Barrage.
If this show comes to your area, try not to miss it. The music these musicians create is spectacular and they have tremendous audience appeal. Their official website is http://www.barrage.org where you can find a schedule of their upcoming shows.
Barrage has entertained millions of people around the globe. Fans in Europe, Asia and North America have enjoyed Barrage at International Festivals, Concert Performances, Special Events and TV appearances. Barrage performances offer up a diverse fusion of cultures, musical styles and incredible performance vitality. The music of Barrage continues to evolve - combining contemporary world music influences, layered vocal arrangements and pulsating modern beats and rhythms. The young hip cast delivers the show with amazing energy and musical virtuosity that will take your breath away.
Since its creation in Calgary, Canada, Barrage has been featured many times at events worldwide having played for many Presidents, Prime Ministers and Princes. Barrage has also had their television productions aired on several international TV networks including the PBS network in the USA, the BBC in the UK and CBC in Canada and has performed live shows in New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Ireland, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Norway, Monaco, the USA and the UK. Truly a great performance and a wonderful way to spend the evening. We bought one of their CD's and I can't wait to listen to it!

Greek Easter
Susan tried two new Greek recipes on Easter. Both recipes are from the April 2012 issue of the Food Network Magazine.
The main dish was Pastitsio, which Susan has made before but with different ingredients. We both liked it but thought it was a little dry. The next time Susan makes Pastitsio, she is going to try a combination of two different recipes.
For dessert she made Pistachio Baklava Tartlets. These things are absolutely wonderful! We found the shells already baked and that made this treat very simple to make. Give these a try if you are looking for a great, easy to make dessert.
